Uncarved

Daoist practice & handmade objects

Return to the uncarved block.

Stillness meditation taught from a living Chinese Daoist tradition, and the few objects that keep a practice company: hand-rolled incense, mountain tea, a cushion to sit on.

Practise with the season

The Chinese year turns through twenty-four solar terms, each about fifteen days long. Every term gets a short letter on how to adjust your sitting, your tea and your incense.

Objects

Tools for sitting still

Each piece is made by a small workshop we know by name. Materials and origin are listed on every object.

The teacher

Where the teaching comes from

Portrait of the teacher goes here: natural light, in the place where they practise.
Sample text · replace with the teacher’s own story

Our teacher has practised Daoist stillness meditation for decades, first as a student in the mountains and later as a teacher of students across China.

Uncarved brings that practice to readers in English. The teaching stays in the teacher’s own words, translated with care, and is never simplified into a wellness trend.
